BENCHMARK EXERCIES

Inversion Exercise inv2a / inv2b uploaded

A detailed description, synthetic seismograms and static displacements, and other auxiliary data for inversion exercise inv2a and inv2b are now available. This benchmark uses kinematic rupture models for M ~7 normal-faulting events on a dipping fault. inv2a is based on noise free data; for inv2b, the seismic data are computed in a 3D heterogeneous Earth structure that leads to "random" amplitude and travel-time flucutions We aim at discussing initial results from the modeling teams at the SIV workshop at the 2012 SCEC Annual meeting.

See the Downloads and Exercises sections. (Martin Mai, March 2013)

Inversion Exercise uploaded

Synthetic seismograms, a detailed description and corresponding data files for an inversion exercise based on a simple crack-like spontaneous dynamic rupture model have been updated. The goal is to have initial results from modeling teams for the SIV workshop at the 2011 SCEC Annual meeting.

See the Downloads and Exercises sections. (Martin Mai, July 15, 2011)
