Waveforms can be compared online using the computer code and methodology of Kristekova et al.(2009). A detailed discussion of the time freqency envelope and time phase envelope as parameters for the misfit respectively the goodness of fit between two signals is given in Kristekova et al. (2009).

The figure on the left side shows the goodness of fit for the time frequency envelope between two signals in the database. A goodness of fit between 8 and 10 is considered excellent, between 6 and 8 good, between 4 and 6 fair, and below 4 poor.
